ARMTECH course has started at RAAFSTT, RAAF Wagga

    As the Senior Mustering Adviser for the new Armament Mustering, I would like to tell all the members of the gunnies mail that the first ARMTECH course has started at RAAFSTT, RAAF Wagga. The course has 9 members and commenced on the 26 Aug 08 with the course doing 20 weeks of core generic aircraft training before being sent to the Defence EO Training School for 4 weeks of 'live' EO training followed by 2 weeks at RAAF Williamtown's 278SQN for more EO training on loading and preparation of stores, egress training etc. Following this training the members will return to RAAF Wagga to complete the Avionics component of their training. They should be graduating around the August 2009 time frame.

All these members will be posted to Air Combat group units for the first 2 years to complete their skills log.

    The starting of this first new Gunnie course is a significant milestone in the re-introduction of the Armament Mustering to the RAAF. I hope that all retire Gunnies will extent a warm welcome to the new batch of Gunnies when they hit the streets next year.
