SEQ Reunion 2006
(photos by Nickola Faulkner)

To top last years SEQ reunion was always going to be difficult. While Stew and I had eleventh hour jitters whether to cancel or not, Phil was adamant that we should go ahead and we are glad that his will prevailed, as this year’s reunion was again a resounding success. As I said during the night, you only need to have two people who haven’t seen each other for twelve months to have a reunion anyway. I would like to thank Stew and Phil for the behind the scenes stuff which makes each years reunion such a success.

This was the third time we have had the reunion at Twin Towns and again, the service, food and accommodation would take some beating. It is an excellent venue and will remain the venue for next years reunion. Stew, Phil and I would like to thank all those who attended (see below for list of attendees and photos) for making the night such a success and give a particular thank you to those who travelled some distance to attend, e.g. Roscoe McCaig and Gerry Willems for making the trek from WA, Ken and Maree Crozier making the journey down from Rockhampton, and Vic and Julie Robertson coming up from Canberra. I think it was four am when Twin Towns staff kindly advised the dozen or so of us (which I might add included these intrepid travellers) who were apparently still thirsty, that the amber stuff (or whatever we were drinking at the time) was no longer being served.

We canvassed those who attended if they wished to keep the reunion as an annual event or hold it very two years; about 99.9% of the feedback we got was to keep the reunion as an annual event. So annual it remains but we look like bringing it forward to earlier in the year. However, Twin Towns is heavily booked all year round so we will see how we go. Meanwhile, keep the suds and gunnie stuff happening.
Caugs.

Among those Attending were:
Barnicoat Dave with Merrilyn, Bindon Jim & Di, Black Bill with Dot, Boyle Mick with Lynne, Chapman Col with Del,
