John Franks - died Brisbane, 14/10/2009

This is Nicole Healy, John Franks' daughter.
I'm emailing you on behalf of Brenda to let you know that John passed away this morning (14 October) after a 12 month battle with cancer.
He will be sadly missed by all friends and relatives, but it was better in the end.
He is now at peace.

A funeral notice will be in the Brisbane Courier Mail on Friday the 16 October.

Dear Nicole, so sorry to hear about John, it is happening to us all too often. My regrets to all who knew him.
Regards, Des Stagg, 11th Intake 1957.

Another good man passes on. I knew John at Williamtown and various other RAAF Bases. He was always comfortable to be with, and his illness was a surprise, I am sure there will be many others shocked to hear of his demise.
I wish his family all the best.
Kind regards.

Message from Fred Howie.................

John's funeral went off well, we had a good representation, Dick Horder,
Warwick Reading, Dave Whately, Dennis Stringfellow, myself and one other
whose name escapes me.

Maybe there was another or two but they kept
their heads down.

His wife was quite pleased that we turned up.

Fred
